Add-on service

For the people who cannot be there.

I built this for a couple whose family could not travel. It worked well enough that it is now something I offer properly — a real camera, real audio, and a private link that anybody can open.

Why bother

A phone on a tripod is not a livestream.

Almost every wedding has someone who should be there and cannot — a grandparent who can no longer travel, family overseas, someone whose health did not cooperate. The usual answer is a cousin holding a phone, which produces forty minutes of shaky footage where the vows are inaudible.

This is the same audio feed that goes into your film, a camera that is already positioned properly, and someone actually watching the broadcast rather than hoping it stayed up.

What you get

  • A private stream link you send to whoever you want, with an optional password
  • A dedicated camera on the ceremony — never a phone on a tripod
  • Clean audio taken from the same board feed and lavalier used for the film
  • A test broadcast the week before, so nobody is troubleshooting on the day
  • Someone monitoring the stream throughout — it is not left running unattended
  • A recording of the stream afterwards, in case anyone missed it live

Questions

What do our guests need?

A link. It opens in any browser on a phone, tablet, laptop or smart TV. Nothing to install, no account to make — which matters when the people watching are the ones least likely to want to make an account.

What if the venue has bad internet?

Most Vermont venues do, so I plan for it. I broadcast over bonded cellular rather than venue wifi, and I check signal at the ceremony site in advance. If a venue genuinely cannot support a live broadcast, I will tell you before you book rather than on the day.

Can we keep it private?

Yes. The stream is unlisted by default and can be password-protected. It is not searchable and it is not public.

Can you stream the reception too?

Usually the ceremony and the speeches are what remote guests actually want. I can extend it — just ask when you enquire.

Already booked and looking for the stream? It is atthe client login — your link and password came by email.

Someone who cannot travel?

Mention it when you enquire and I will tell you whether your venue can carry a broadcast before you commit to anything.
